Improv Classes
Andy also offers Improv classes for kids ages 7 and older. The number of classes vary depending on the number of participants enrolled and their age level. While learning to "think on their feet", students will become innovative problem solvers; children will feel encouraged and accepted as they explore their spontaneous movements and ideas. Andy's Improv classes are also successful in:
  • Enhancing communication skills
  • Increasing self-confidence
  • Boosting self-esteem
  • Promoting team-building skills
  • Sharpening performance skills
  • Improving willingness to take risks
Improv activates the all-important learning skills of listening, accepting, affirming, imagining and trusting. All of these skills are essential for good learning in school. Trusting your own instincts is integral to successful learning. Julia Cameron, author of "The Artist's Way", writes, "A sense of creativity and fun is the key to breakthrough thinking and innovative solutions." Improv facilitates learning to trust your own instincts by training players to be in the moment. Players will learn to give and receive ideas, in an accepting way.

Improv classes are suitable for shy kids, for kids who like to perform, for creative kids, all kids! Improv classes often spark a lifelong interest in Improv, as well as acting and theater!
